Top 5 03:57
Someone put the kettle on, Cos I won’t be long, My feet are wet, my ears are cold, Not long now til I’m home. And I am tired but I’m alright. Someone put a record on, Strokes, Kinks, Doors, Van Morisson, Make a top 5 rainy day songs, We can pick our favourite one. Stuck inside, the rain is on. Stuck inside, the TV’s on. Stuck inside, the radio’s on.

What’s with all the lights, They’re oppressing me, What’s with all this running around, What’s with all this running around? Don’t turn on the light, When I’ve got my curtains drawn tight, I don’t want to know what’s outside, I don’t want to see what’s outside. Please let me sleep on, I just want to lie here and watch TV, Close the door behind you please. What’s with all the lights, I had one too many last night, What’s with all this running around, Tell me what the fuss is about.
3.
Stairs 03:39
Somewhere underneath the stairs, Underneath a wooden chair, Stuck under a raincoat, Goes me. I wish I had it all worked out, I wish I had a sort of key, I wish I knew what questions, I should ask. If I found the answer, I would have no-one to tell, Maybe I should think about something else. How long have I been down here, Sitting and a-pondering, Trying to square a circle?
4.
A familiar word a familiar phrase, Yeah you win some you lose some, Guess you wanted more from me, Play dominoes, double or quits How much monkey DNA, Is there running through your veins, In the case of one or two I’d say. All that I wanted to say, Is that you’ll never stop me.
5.
I once saw a postcard hanging on a wall, It said ‘if life gives you lemons, make lemonade’, And life seldom makes more sense, Life seldom makes more sense. Gary came home from work around two or three, Cracked a tin to play NBA Jam with me, And life seldom made more sense, Life seldom made more sense. I’m a believer in fate. Someone wrote that postcard hanging on the wall, Licked the stamp and stuck it in the box, addressed to you, And life seldom makes more sense, Life seldom makes more sense.
6.
The Whys 03:34
Would you be sitting here, If you still had a choice, And what would you do different, I’m just curious. And where would you be sitting, If you could sit anywhere, Cos I’ll do anything and I’ll pull any strings, to get you there. Attach a line onto your core, And run yourself right out the door, to eliminate the whys. What is it that you’re chasing, Where is your final chair, Does this throne exist, Some beanbag in the mist or in the clouds.
7.
Ben 03:40
Ben, can you bring the gin (or) else I wont let you in, Ben I mean it, I mean it Ben. Things aren’t what they used to be, We’re out on a limb baby, yeah Keep swinging, keep swinging Ben. Come over to mine after the show, We’ll drink a bottle of wine on the patio, I don’t remember saying you could smoke though, Ben. Ben, how long has it been, I hear you’re gonna be a daddy. A daddy Ben. Things aren’t what they used to be, We’re out on a limb baby, Keep swinging, keep swinging Ben.
8.
Sacks 03:52
Draw me a picture tell me what you see, A boat on a river pushing towards the sea, I’m flowing upstream I’m stuck in the estuary. You look unhappy but I’m not saying you are. Who’s in the corner looking out at me, The whites of their eyes are penetrating me, Stop looking at me. I try to make you happy, Wish I could make you see what I see. So praise your God whoever he may be, Listen to him and pay no heed to me, You’re better off with him, best not listen to me.
9.
Pushin' On 03:57
Swing high, swing low Swing it down til you hit the floor, Find a crack and rip it, Crawl through and you’re reborn. But don’t stop there, You might as well keep pushin’ on. Bring a light for comfort, I’m not sure how much good it’ll do, Keep it up and keep up, Keep it up til you reach the core. I have absolutely no idea what I’m looking for, but I’m willing to wager that no-one does.
10.
Tap-Tap 04:00
I want to shine a light on you, I know that you’re not perfect, but I can’t see the lines, I didn’t want to say I didn’t want to stay, I didn’t want to say I didn’t want to go, I didn’t want to say I didn’t want to stay, I want to say that I’ll never let you down. And there’s a tap tap on the window pane, It’s been a while since I watched the rain, I’m spending time with myself again. I’ll shut my mouth if this seems a little strange, I’ll step down and let you take the reins. I love when it’s not perfect, I love when it’s not perfect and I can see the cracks. Yeah I love when it’s not perfect, but I’ll never let you down. And there’s a tap tap on the window pane, It’s been a while since we watched the rain, It’s great to spend time with you again.
